Since first hearing about Johnny's Depp's involvement in a feature version of the '70s TV movie The Night Stalker, we've been wondering who might direct the film, and today our answer has come. Read on for the details.

According to Deadline, Disney is setting Edgar Wright (pictured) to direct The Night Stalker, the remake of the ABC telepic and series that the studio is developing as a potential star vehicle for Johnny Depp to play intrepid tabloid reporter Carl Kolchak. Depp and his Infinitum Nihil partner Christi Dembrowski will produce, and David Kennedy will be the executive producer of the film.

Wright, best known for directing Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, comes aboard before the studio has selected a writer, and he will oversee and shape the project with Depp and Dembrowski from the ground floor.

Originated by Darren McGavin, Kolchak was the dogged journalist first seen in a 1972 made-for-TV movie wherein he hunted a killer who was draining the blood of beautiful girls on the Las Vegas strip and later in the ABC series "Kolchak: The Night Stalker". Kolchak's investigations always seemed to lead him to the doorstep of vampires, zombies, werewolves, and aliens. For its time, it was pretty scary stuff. Like "Dark Shadows", the "Kolchak" series was produced by the late Dan Curtis.

Good haunted house movies get under our skin like nothing else. Why is that? Because we all know we could be innocently sitting at home and suddenly out of the blue comes that whisper from the darkness ..."Get out!"

For future reference, the proper thing to do in that situation is to get the fuck out. Hopefully the folks in the upcoming spooker The Haunting of Whaley House heed this advice.

According to Deadline, "Lost" and "Sons Of Anarchy" alum Titus Welliver is the first actor cast in NBC’s drama pilot Midnight Sun. The thriller, based on an Israeli format, follows the mysterious disappearance of the Midnight Sun, a group living on a cult-like commune in Alaska, and a female FBI cult specialist leading the investigation that uncovers a larger conspiracy.

Welliver will play Bennett Maxwell, the charismatic and manipulative leader of Midnight Sun. Look for more on this one as it comes.

Coming from director Brian C. Weed is Bloody Homecoming, a new indie slasher flick starring Jim Tavare, Rae Latt, Lexi Giovagnoli, Grainne McDermott, Alex Dobrenko, Randi Lamey, Jesse Ferraro, Branden Roth, Taryn Cervarich, Elizabeth Bigger, Shaleen Cholera, and Steve Earnest.

Synopsis

According to the latest post on GrewSum's facebook page, after his new album "Natural Sicko" releases, he's calling it quits. Could it be true?

Natural Sicko is the next album to be released by GrewSum. The release date is set for sometime in April hopefully, he says. The album will feature Hopsin, Claas, SkeeZ, Gravity WiseWords and more. The album according to Grew is 50% horrorcore and 50% real life issues he's facing right now. Is this really the end for the Talk Shit Avenger? Only time will tell.
