Karen Gillan is perhaps most known for her work on the beloved BBC series "Dr. Who," but horror fans may remember her from the stylish almost-werewolf flick Outcast last year. She's gearing up for another bout with the supernatural - and this time it's personal!
According to Variety, Gillan will star in the horror flick Oculus for Intrepid Pictures and director Mike Flanagan (Absentia). The story follows a woman whose life was ruined after her parents were murdered. Her brother was convicted of the crime despite her belief that the real culprit was a supernatural entity. After a decade, she becomes obsessed with finding the truth behind the killing.
No word on a release date as of yet, but we do know that FilmDistrict is handling domestic distribution while Focus Features International will handle foreign sales. Production begins this fall.
